When we speak about watch complications, our thought goes towards the most known ones such as chronograph, perpetual calendar, until arriving to the tourbillon. Easily we forget the most expensive and difficult complication to be realized, the sound Repeater (Repetition). It is the most desired object among the collectors, no longer understood, technically and in its functions. However, the Repeater still remains an absolutely uncommon “desirable object”.
The Repeater is a watch with a sound mechanism that can be put in action at your pleasure, and it indicates hours and hours fractions, in this case each five minutes. The Repeater was used since long time, during '500, to see the clock during the night. The first model belongs to 1784, and a mainspring vibration usually called gong produces the sound. At the beginning, these mainsprings had rectilinear form, and they were positioned transversal on the posterior plate. Then, the mainsprings were rolled around the movement, as actually it happens. In this way, the emitted sound really improved. A push-button puts the sound mechanism in action, just like a piston, positioned on the left side of the case.
The Repeater luxury watch, as designed Zannetti, adds precious materials such as gold and enamel, to the highly sophisticated mechanism. They merge in very particular colors and forms. Obviously, limited edition, the production is just few pieces a year.
