The Underwood Watch Winder Safe can be customized to your specifications. We propose two models, for 16 or 40 watches, both with additional storage for jewelry or non-automatic watches.

Standard Specifications

This safe is fitted with 16 or 40 Underwood watch winding modules, powered externally by way of a single transformer. Three additional spacious drawers provide ample storage space for additional watches and jewelry items.

The internal configuration and external finishing can be modified according to the clients specifications.

The Underwood Safe is the safest way to protect your luxury watches, both automatic and non-automatic, and all your jewelry items as well.

To provide the maximum protection and security these units are not manufactured in series, so that each unit can accommodate the needs of each individual client. Each Underwood safe is built with security features corresponding to European and International norms and standards. Every Underwood safe can be fitted with a number of the Underwood watch winding modules and can also be built to provide ample possibility for the storage of other precious items.

Following in the long tradition of Underwood's exclusive leather goods, each safe can even be covered in exclusive leather in a color and style selected by the client.

Underwood Safe Information

The Underwood safe is built in Italy. Underwood does the finishing here in their own factory, fitting it out with modules, storage drawers etc.

They do not have the same rating system here in Italy as in the USA, in fact it appears that there are a number of rating systems even here in Europe.

The Italian system differentiates first of all actual safes from say the likes of gun cabinets and other types of protected cabinets.

The association of Italian Insurance companies known as ANIA has a rating system and the Underwood safe falls into GRADE "A" in the ANIA system. We have tried to ascertain how this compares with the US TL rating. It seems that the TL rating (TL-15, TL-30 etc.) is based on the length of time on average it takes to open the safe with what are commonly understood to be burglars tools such as picks, crowbars, oxy-acetylene torches etc.

The Underwood Safe uses 50mm (ca. 2 inches) armor steel plate for all of the sides, whereas the actual door uses 70mm (2.75 inches) of the same steel. Our Italian supplier advises that using this information it should be possible to confirm that an equivalent TL rating for the type of construction we are using would be a TL rating ca. TL-60 (about 1 Hour).

The safe is locked by way of triple expansion bar rods, using a key system Double Mapp A8 on a mechanical lock with three co-axial discs.

Regarding delivery and consignment, shipment would be direct from Europe by sea freight, using a specialist company.

Easy-to-use and efficient

Underwood watch winders are fully automatic, with no adjustments needed. Just place your watch on the spring-loaded mount mechanism, insert the mount into the module and turn on the unit. The unit will rotate 30 minutes clockwise, then 30 minutes counterclockwise, after which it will stop for three hours. It will then repeat this cycle. The result is a 24-hour cycle, making the Underwood watch winders ideal for all automatic watches, whether modern or heirloom.

Convenient
Each Underwood module operates on AC or battery power. And each multiple winding box comes with an extra single-unit leather carrying case. So you can use your Underwood winder at home, in your office or on your next trip-even protect it in a safe.

With the Modular Winding System from Underwood, you can build your system as your automatic watch collection grows. Each single unit works independently even when housed in one of the Underwood multiple-unit boxes.

Your Underwood watch winder is housed in the finest materials. The single module protects your watch in a durable, smooth finish, high-tech coated, abrasion-resistant composite material. Following the long tradition of Underwood fine leather accessories, the luxurious leather cases are handcrafted in Italy from carefully selected full grain, natural vegetable-tanned leather. Each case is accented with solid brass fittings decorated with the 'Clou de Paris' found on all Underwood products.
