Aurora Europa Fountain Pen - Limited Edition

Pearl-grey, white and black marbled resin, cap and barrel
Chrome trim
Blue hydro-thermal quartz on the top
Silver enameled ring decorated with Historical engravings
18kt solid gold nib
Limited edition of 7500

The Europa Fountain Pen, handmade in marbled resin, is inspired by European History. The barrel is in pearl-grey, white and black marbled resin and a magnificent blue hydro-thermal quartz embellishes the head. The clip is engraved with the profile of Europe, the head with the number. The fountain pen features an 18 Kt. rhodium-plated solid gold nib and the traditional piston refill system with hidden reservoir.

The ring features relief engravings of symbols of important events in the history of Europe. The decoration, using silver enameling, was designed and created by the research department at Aurora's historic Turin factory.

The six stars represent Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, the 6 countries that originally signed the treaty founding the European Economic Community,, the symbol of their role and of their unprecedented achievement on the international scene.

The factory and the railway represent the industrial revolution and developments in transport, while the stylized double helix pays tribute to the scientific discovery of the "Secret of Life", revealed by Francis Crick and James Watson on 28 February 1953, which enabled modern science to discover the double helix structure of the DNA molecule.

The elegant luminescent anthracite-colored presentation case with a precious pearl satin lining embodies Aurora's customary attention to detail.
