In December 2017, Uri Løvevild Golman came within inches of his life when he and his wife Helle were savagely attacked in a marketplace in Libreville, Gabon. Their expedition was meant to mark the end of a 5-year project, but it became the toughest journey of them all.

It was love that led Project WILD’s founders to Africa, and love that saved Uri’s life. As his rehabilitation continues, a special, Solidarity Edition celebrates both, while supporting their goals. Its exotic tones evoke the intoxicating ambience of a moment photographers call 'the golden hour'.

Based near Copenhagen, the National Geographic Explorers and Photographers have forged a reputation for seeking out wildlife that is extremely difficult to find – and even more challenging to photograph. But in 2017, the couple’s flourishing career took a frightful turn when they were savagely attacked in a market in Libreville, Gabon. Helle was able to recover from her injuries, but Uri was placed in an induced coma, and is still fighting to recover his mobility and speech.

With Uri’s ongoing rehabilitation, their efforts have turned towards mobilizing action on tangible conservation efforts, and seeking out platforms like the relationship with Montegrappa. Their latest release together reprises the silhouette that proved a hit with celebrities in 2020 and includes the pair’s WILD Explorer expedition badge on the crown.
