Smiley 50th Anniversary LE Story

Since debuting on the pages of a French newspaper on 1 January 1972, Smiley® has spread around the world as a byword for positivity. Introduced to help readers navigate around bad news, it continues to spread positive vibes today as a beacon of happiness adorning a selection of contemporary design objects which represent a new currency for The Smile Economy.

Montegrappa's Signature ZERO silhouette beams with joy, encouraging us all to “Take the Time to Smile”, reimagining the original Smiley® slogan from 1972 in enamel-filled graffiti.

Art by André – creator of Mr. A – uses spray-paint and graffiti to connect Smiley’s five decades of positive rebellion to the world of contemporary street art.

Limited to only 365 pieces per model, each limited edition writing instrument represents a happy day in Smiley’s 50th anniversary year.
