Montegrappa Eternal Bird Fountain Pen - Celluloid, Solid 18K Gold
The Montegrappa Eternal Bird Gold Fountain Pen is the companion to the much heralded Dragon pen. This 10 Year anniversary limited edition represents Feng Huang, the phoenix, which can rise reborn from its own ashes. Today the symbol of rebirth and the individual spirit and always the symbol of the eternal death and rebirth of nature through the cycle of the seasons, the immortal bird appears with slight modifications in many far-flung transformations, through its constant association with the sun and with fire.
The pairing of the Eternal bird with its companion Dragon is underlined in numerous analogies: style and dimension of the pen, the same artist’s hand, the same packaging, a precious inkwell in a very limited edition.
The Montegrappa Eternal Bird Gold Fountain Pen features die-casting sculpture applied to the pen barrel and cap made of bright red celluloid. Red has a symbolic significance of the phoenix and of its very name. (Phoenix derives from the Greek word meaning “red”).
THE EYES OF THE BIRD
The red motif is repeated in the eyes of the bird which are represented by two brilliant-cut rubies.
The nib is in 18K gold (white/yellow according to the versions).
The sculpture of the pen is repeated in the engraving which decorates the fountain pen nib.
