The new limited edition fountain pen in the Private Collection from Caran d'Ache reflects passion. The blend of gold and deep blue recalls the star-studded skies of our childhood dreams, while interlaced Arabic calligraphy brings to mind the ardour of the two lovers' passion. Limited to 1001 pieces and intended for art aficionados and collectors, it is a truly exclusive work of art. Its body is crafted in vermeil (gold-plated silver) and adorned with the work of Edouard Jud.

Edouard Jud, the co-designer of this fountain pen, was inspired by one of the tales of Arabian Nights. The story told by Sheherezade unfolds over fourteen nights. It describes the impossible love between two incredibly attractive human beings, the Persian prince Ali Bin BakkÃ¢r and the exquisite Shamsan-NahÃ¢r.

The Mille et Une Nuits fountain pen reflects passion. Limited to 1001 pieces and intended for art aficionados and collectors, it is a truly exclusive work of art. Its body is crafted in vermeil (gold-plated silver) and adorned with the work of acclaimed Swiss goldsmith and jeweller Edouard Jud. The designs ornamenting the fountain pen are freely inspired by Arabic calligraphy.

To create the jacket of every Mille et Une Nuits fountain pen, calligraphic details are cut out from a sheet of solid silver, then meticulously sculpted and finished by hand to afford it perfect relief and volume. From these two original sheaths - one for the pen's body, the other for the cap - the artist created moulds in which to cast the silver. Following manual touch-up, each piece extracted from the mould is then gold-plated and delicately applied to the pen by Caran d'Ache specialists.

The central ring of the fountain pen is engraved with the Caran d'Ache name and individually numbered (from 0001 to 1001). Each 18-carat gold nib is highlighted with rhodium, tested and finished by hand to provide the necessary suppleness and personality for the ultimate in writing pleasure. This limited edition is presented in a luxury wooden blue-lacquered case with a gilded plate engraved with â€œMille et Une Nuitsâ€ in original Arabic calligraphy.
