 Description

Vie d’arte, vie d’acqua - silk
Villages and towns in the Ferrara area, between the Po and the Reno.
This suggestive itinerary, offered in this latest volume of the “Grand Tour” collection, begins at the walls of the city of the Este family, “full of Baroque churches and ancient palaces” and winds though the countryside of Ferrara until it reaches other towns, scattered with towers, bell towers, inns, rows of lime trees and saltern ponds. Mesola, Argenta, Bondeno, Comacchio, Cento and Codigoro are just some of the areas in the territory between the Po and the Reno in the Ferrara lowlands. Places of silence and meditation, in which one can lose oneself for a moment, or perhaps longer. A world that also opens inner horizons.
Title: Vie d’arte, vie d’acqua - silk
Pages: 132
Tables: 105
Author: Andrea Emiliani and Graziano Campanini. Preface by Vittorio Sgarbi
Edition: italian
Year: 2006
Dimensions: (cm) 30x30
Rilegato: Silk
Photos by: Luciano Romano
Iconographia: Luciano Romano’s photography accompanies the reader in this journey through the Padan plain, like a solemn, slow flight over watery landscape shrouded in fog; a fog that appears to dissolve in front of its works of art. It seems to create, in Campanini’s words, that process of identification “in a tradition that is also the need for a soul”.
