 Description
Tamara de Lempicka
Tamara de Lempicka was a beautiful young Polish painter. Gabriele d’Annunzio was an eloquent and lascivious poet in soldier’s uniform. Tamara went to paint his portrait; d’Annunzio hoped to make her part of his harem. The chronicler of their meeting and the fiasco was Aélis Mazoyer, maid, lover and governess of d’Annunzio and author of a torrential unedited diary that offers, like no other text, an image of d´Annunzio’s daily life in his buen retiro. Tamara was forgotten for many years, until this book rediscovered her in 1977. From then on, her monumental and frivolous art has been seen by everybody.
