Le cattedrali del vapore
For over a century the stations of the worlds main cities have offered the traveller a feast of signs and emblems, frescoes and sculptures, by artists who created what came to be known as the "cathedrals of the age of steam". This volume presents the lost world of the 19th-century railways through fascinating images of trains and stations, with plans, paintings and the decorations embellishing luxury carriages and great station restaurants.
