It was once the aristocratie abode of the Sanvitale family, who devoted themselves to the pleasures of court poetry within its walls, and transformed it into a monumentai jewel case for Renaissance painting, with the fable of Diana and Actaeon frescoed there by Parmigianino far a long vanished "petty prince".
