Alexandre Serebriakoff
Born in Russia at the beginning of the century, Alexandre Serebriakoff, “painter of interiors”, comes from a line of artists who culminate in the famous Benois and although he has distant French ancestors, it is clear that his world is that of old Russia. Serebriakoff was a passionate interpreter of the tastes of an exclusive elite and the heir to the 19th-century painters of interiors, whose meticulous art he brought once again to light through his rich and extravagant commissions. He was an exceptional watercolourist who takes us into the homes of the most famous characters of the age: we can visit Groussay castle, sumptuous residence of Charles de Beistegui, the great art lover and observe the details of the salons, rooms and studies of Chanel, de Balkany, and of Rothschild.

Alexandre Serebriakoff
