 Description

Alberto Savinio
Alberto Savinio, a dilettante in the arts of painting, music, thought and life, was born Andrea de Chirico in Athens in 1891. He studied with his more boisterous brother, Giorgio, in Munich, Bavaria. He was in Paris at the right time and came into contact with the most fertile and lively ideas in European culture. He gave words, shapes, colours and sounds to his own poetic world, a protean and inexhaustible storeroom of the imaginary. He died in Rome in 1952. Together with some of his best paintings, this book contains a selection of his various writings for different periodicals, published between 1920 and 1950, which hide the metaphysical smile of a great writer.

Alberto Savinio
