At one glance subtle, at another, bold… The Blue Stardust Sterling Duro is a captivating work of art as much as it is a writing instrument. Beginning with a base constructed of sterling silver, the craftsmen at Conway Stewart then cut and fit an overlay of our rich, mysterious Blue Stardust acrylic to the cap and barrel. The results come close to defying simple description. The underlying shades of indigo and cobalt blue work together to grab the attention, glowing from within with reflected light, the pearlescent highlights flicker between light and dark. It is only when the eye draws closer that the real nature of this material is revealed. Thousands of glimmering specks of bright silver are scattered throughout the material, a veritable constellation of stardust that draws the eye across both cap and barrel.
Under the bright glowing acrylic overlays, the Sterling Duro is the same carefully constructed fine writing instrument. Cap and barrel are crafted from solid sterling silver rod stock, adding perfectly balanced weight to the pen itself. The cap top, cap band, and barrel end are left in gleaming bright polished silver, further accented by a silver pocket clip in the classic and stately design that has graced Conway Stewart writing instruments since the 1930s.
When you remove the cap, you unveil a shining solid sterling silver section graced with a two tone 18K gold nib. The 18 carat solid gold nib is available in a choice of eight grades, from Extra Fine to Extra Broad, Italic Fine, Italic Medium and Italic Broad.
