Conway Stewart Elite Floral Rose 18 ct Gold Fountain Pen

The Limited Edition Floral Rose reflects the highest skill and art of the master enamel painter. The Conway Stewart Floral Rose is modelled after the famous Floral 22 pen of 1955. The pen is fashioned from solid 18 carat gold bar overlaid with a rich enamel base. Up to seventeen layers of enamel are applied to obtain the base colour and effect desired by the master penmaker. Each layer of enamel is painstakingly applied, fired in the kiln and then allowed to cool naturally. The floral pattern is then hand painted using a single goose quill onto the enamel. Depending on the complexity of the design it can take the artist several months to hand paint one pen. Finally, a clear coat of enamel is applied by hand over the painting and then finally fired for the last time. Each pen is very subtly signed by the master artist responsible for the hand painting. The first task for its new owner is to find just where the signature lies! A great opportunity to get to know their precious new work of art.
